I’m very pleased to announce that a collection of thirteen brand new paintings of mine are being shown in a joint exhibition with local artist Steven Scholes between 9th January 2007 and 3rd February 2007 at the Blyth Gallery, Amazon House, Brazil St, Manchester M1 3PJ. Tel 0161 236 1004. That’s just off Canal St. in the Gay Village. The exhibition is entitled ‘Manchester Vision.’ Steven paints nostalgic scenes of Edwardian, pre-war and Victorian Manchester using old photographs as the source material, and I paint Manchester as I see it today using frequent plagarisms of the post-impressionist archive as my source material, and so it will hopefully make for an interesting juxtaposition. A review of this exhibition by Art’s Correspondent Angela Kelly of Manchester Metro News entitled ‘Portrait of Our City’ can be found here. If you miss this exhibition my next full exhibition will be at the Portico Library & Gallery, Manchester in May 2008. More details about that later in the year.
