Transcultural Writing Open Day, Lancaster University

Poster

On 31st May a selection of some of my paintings where shown at Transcultural Writing Open day at Lancaster university, Institute for Advanced Studies which also included photography, learning information displays, film screenings (including Shelagh Delaney’s 1960’s Manchester Classic ‘A Taste of Honey’ which I thoroughly enjoyed watching after so many years since I last saw it and which is good for playing a kind of ‘Morrissey Bingo’ where you see how many different lines from the film came to be used in the lyrics of many of his songs), and readings by the poet, novelist and critic David Dabydeen. My paintings were shown due to being the artist chosen to represent Lancaster University’s ‘Moving Manchester Project.’ More information about the event can be found here.
