Manchester Buy Art Fair takes place for the first time at the iconic Old Granada Studios, Quay Street, Manchester M60 9EA on Friday 26th to Sunday 28th September. I will be showing six new paintings, including the one featured above, and, of course, it being the Buy Art Fair, they will all be for sale! The featured painting ‘Peveril of the Peak No. 9′ (40x50cm acrylic on board) is the ninth version I’ve painted of this same scene of the Peveril of the Peak pub on Great Bridgewater Street, behind the Bridgewater Hall, and it seems to be a popular subject as every one of the previous eight versions has since been sold. It’s a fine heritage pub to visit and I’d recommend dropping in. Manchester Council, of course, as with many buildings with fine heritage, wanted to pull it down to build a road, but a campaign by CAMRA and others saved it. Thanks to them, then. But I digress!
