I’m pleased to report that a team of medical staff from Manchester University NHS recently bought one of my paintings as a retirement gift for their Professor Evans, a renowned geneticist. whom, it was explained to me, had set up a national service that has and continues to support patients with a difficult genetic condition called NF2. The painting they chose was ‘Red Building With Trees on Violet Background’ (50x40cm) which can be seen here. It is of a building in Manchester which always appealed to me each time I passed it as a good subject to paint. It’s a semi abstract work inasmuch as it’s about colour harmonies as much as the subject matter. The photograph here if of Professor Evans receiving the painting at the teams national conference on 4th November 2025, published by kind permission of the staff at MRI. I felt very honoured that that they chose one of my works for this gift and I hope that Professor Evans liked and enjoys the painting.
